About

Su Briggs is a Sculptor living in South West England.

Her intricate sculptures are an intriguing mix of recycled wires and modern materials, such as plastics. Some of the pieces are illuminated whilst others rely on natural light.

Her past works explore the relationship between marine life and water. The acrylic that encapsulates the wire structures is an integral part of the sculptures. Not only is its function to protect and support the delicate form but it also gives the sculptures a scientific feel, encouraging the viewer to study the work more closely.

Reoccurring themes in her work are spirals in nature and linear forms. Through her sculptures she is exploring movement and growth and the fragility yet strength in natural forms.
